Mandatory Continuing Education

Following the initial renewal of registration as a salesperson, and in each successive
two-year registration renewal cycle, all salesperson registrants (as well as broker registrants) must
complete 24 credit hours of mandatory continuing education credits (MCEs). RECO-approved education providers
offer courses throughout the province that must meet pre-approved subject area.
RECO Real Estate Update
(Residential or Commercial) is a required six-credit program for all registrants in each two-year renewal
cycle. This course is offered exclusively by the OREA Real Estate College. You are at liberty to select
the balance of your requirement from other pre-approved courses.
Failure to fulfill the requirements of RECO's Mandatory Continuing Education Policy will
result in the immediate termination of RECO membership and expiry of registration under the Real Estate
and Business Brokers Act, 2002. Registrants are then unable to trade in Real Estate.
