E-Learning This approach to self-directed study is highly interactive. The course workbook is available via the Internet. You must have some computer knowledge and feel comfortable with the hardware and software required to take an e-learning course. Internet access is required (high speed is highly recommended) along with a word processing program. E-learning demands self-discipline and good time management. While less time consuming than taking a course in person, this approach lacks the degree of social interaction found in the classroom. Course content is also delivered differently. You don’t simply read or listen to an instructor. You define the learning experience, explore interactive links, and work through material by clicking, selecting, and entering. Assistance is available through the Instructor Support Line. Education forums are accessible by e-learning students directly from their e-learning course. E-learning courses feature mechanisms for self-testing and guides you through the course unit-by-unit. In addition to exercises, you must complete assignments. E-learning access is provided for two years from the start date of the registration education course. Examinations are held at College Examination Centres. E-Learning Disclaimer: The College sends confirmation of enrollment in e-learning courses via e-mail to your My Portfolio account. This confirmation contains the course activation date, course login number, examination date, and other pertinent student information. All e-learning students are responsible for accessing their My Portfolio account frequently to check for communications from the College, and must ensure they have online access to the OREA website. |
