Important Notice To All Phase 2 Students

Effective January 1st, 2009, all Phase 2 examinations for correspondence, e-learning and classroom students will be a multiple choice format. This also applies to rewrite examinations irrespective of when the original examination was written. The three hour time limit remains the same.

Similar in format to the current Phase 1 examinations, answers will be recorded on a Scantron sheet. The benefits of this change are a greater degree of standardization and objective testing throughout the province. It will also result in efficient marking allowing students to progress through the pre-registration cycle in less time.

Students should bring a pen to complete the cover sheet of the exam. Pencils will be provided to record answers on the Scantron sheet.

The format of the exam will be changing but not the content. It is still based on the current Phase 2 curriculum. The multiple choice format will enable the College to test a wider range of topics and knowledge.

Students are cautioned not to assume that a multiple choice examination will mean an easier examination. The exam will be a comprehensive test of a student’s knowledge and understanding of the course concepts.
