Exam Information
The Phase 1 three-hour examination consists of multiple choice questions reflecting workbook exercises, assignments and required readings. Examinations for all courses subsequent to Phase 1 are of three hours’ duration and consist of essay-style questions similar to workbook exercises and assignments.

Examinations for self-directed students take place at College Examination Centres. Examinations for classroom students take place on the last scheduled day of instruction. A student who does not write the scheduled examination will be given a grade of “0” and the course transcript will reflect “fail”. Students who do not write the scheduled examination or students who do not pass this exam will be given one final opportunity to write the examination.

Effective January 1, 2008, all registration education course examinations are  ‘CLOSED BOOK’.  This includes Pre-registration, Articling and Professional Real Estate Brokerage courses.

You may use a financial calculator which does not permit the saving of text material. However, wireless electronic devices such as hand held computers, cellular telephones, dictionaries, translators, personal data assistants, pagers, headsets, any remote communication or photographic device and other electronic organizers which permit the saving of text material are prohibited.

The use of textbooks, reference manuals, encyclopedias, workbooks or loose leaf papers of any kind is prohibited. Entry into an examination room constitutes the start of the examination. Prohibited items listed above, if brought into the examination room constitutes a breach of examination protocol.

In the event such prohibited items are found by the invigilator, he/she is authorized to remove such items. Students who choose not to write the examination in these circumstances will be awarded a mark of zero. A final determination of the status of the completed examination will be made by the College dependent upon the nature of the breach of examination procedures.

Students who fail to observe College Program Standards and are found in violation of examination procedures will be subject to disciplinary action which may include disqualification from College courses and examinations. No appeal is available for discipline imposed as a result of breaches of examination procedures which have been identified in the Student Handbook and on this website.

Students who arrive past the examination start time will not be permitted to write the examination and will forfeit their examination attempt. Students are reminded that photo identification issued by a government agency is required for admission to the examination. The identification must be current and valid and must be identical to the name provided upon enrolment in the course.
