Barbara Sukkau, Director-at-Large 

Toronto, February 29, 2008... Thorold real estate salesperson Barb Sukkau was elected director-at-large of the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) at its annual conference on February 27.

In this capacity, she will represent the association’s members on the board of directors and the senior level executive committee.

Active in the real estate profession for 13 years, Ms. Sukkau is a sales representative with Royal LePage Niagara Real Estate Centre, Brokerage.  She is a member of the Niagara Association of REALTORS^® where she served as president, chair of the education and communication committees and as a member of the public relations, membership and MLS & Technology committees.  She has served OREA as a member of the instructor review panel, conference planning, education, and government relations committees, and chair of the education committee and has served on the OREA Board since 2006.  Most recently, Ms. Sukkau served as chair of the communication committee.

The Ontario Real Estate Association represents 45,000 brokers and salespeople who are members of the 43 real estate boards throughout the province.  Members of the association may use the “REALTOR^®” trademark, which identifies them as real estate professionals who subscribe to a high standard of ethics and service.

OREA serves REALTORS^® through a wide variety of professional publications, educational programs, government lobbying and other services.  A division of the association, the OREA Real Estate College, provides all real estate registration education courses in Ontario.
