Statement from OREA on the one year anniversary of Ontario's Fair Housing Plan

TORONTO, ON, April 20, 2018 – "Today marks the one-year anniversary of the Ontario Government’s Fair Housing Plan. Unfortunately, the plan has not accomplished the task of making home ownership available and affordable for the next generation of home owners. Millennials and young families understand that home ownership is a smart investment and they are desperate to purchase their first home.

While the government embraced Realtors’ ideas on addressing housing supply, providing more choice in the market, and doubling the land transfer tax rebate -- more work needs to be done.

We’re calling all political parties to step up this election and deliver for the thousands of young families out there who want to own a home. During this election campaign, Ontario REALTORS® are going to fight to ensure that future generations have a fair shot at home ownership."
