Apply to win a prestigious leadership award

Trophy against a starry backgroundIf you are new to the real estate profession, involved in organized real estate and dedicated to charity or community work, you can apply to win a prestigious award that helps you hone your leadership skills.

Five people will be recognized for their involvement in organized real estate and commitment to professional development as well as to community or charitable initiatives.

Regardless of your age, you can apply to win one of the Ontario Real Estate Association’s five YPN Leadership Awards if you have been involved with the profession for fewer than 10 years. If you are under the age of 40 you can also apply, regardless of the length of time you have worked in real estate.

The awards will be presented to the five individuals who best meet the criteria. Winners will be announced in March at OREA’s annual leadership conference.  The deadline to apply is Jan. 29, 2016

Legal Beat: Alarm system leads to alarming lawsuit

“It’s important for our industry to foster growth and career development among today’s emerging leaders,” says Jennifer Aunger-Ritchie, a REALTOR® from Smiths Falls, Ontario and the chair of OREA YPN.

“By supporting and encouraging people who are new to the field, we all benefit because we position our industry for long-term success. Last year we had a terrific pool of candidates and we’d like to build on that momentum again this year.”

Award winners will have the opportunity to hone their leadership skills by sharing their personal success stories with members of their profession and the public through OREA events and media channels.

OREA's Young Professionals Network (YPN) helps young REALTORS® excel by giving them the tools and encouragement to become involved in four core areas: associations, the real estate industry, peers and community.
