The Salesperson Registration Education Program
You have 18 months from the start of the first course to complete this segment.
In the Pre-registration Segment of the Salesperson Registration Education Program, you will complete the courses required to become eligible to apply to the Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) for your initial registration as a salesperson.
The courses must be completed in order, as follows:
Real Estate as a Professional Career
This course provides a general overview of the real estate profession and how it interacts with other elements of society. The course introduces basic real estate concepts, details the salesperson/broker relationship, explains market dynamics, and includes various mathematical calculations. Offered in the classroom (35 hours), by correspondence, and e-Learning.
Land, Structures and Real Estate Trading
This course provides an overview of how land and property are registered and how ownership occurs. Offered in the classroom (60 hours), by correspondence, and e-Learning.
The Real Estate Transaction - General + The Residential Real Estate Transaction
This course is presented using two textbooks; one exam follows upon completion of both textbooks. The Real Estate Transaction–General provides a detailed overview of a real estate transaction, including the forms and clauses used when working with sellers and buyers. The Residential Real Estate Transaction provides an overview on the various types of residential sales and leasing, including trends and issues specific to the residential market.
The Commercial Real Estate Transaction
This course provides a detailed overview of the listing, selling, and leasing of various types of commercial real estate, including trends and issues specific to the commercial market.
Real Property Law
Real Property Law provides students with a clear understanding of legal issues concerning property ownership and in-depth knowledge of a number of legislative acts.
