OREA mourns the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Merv Burgard. Merv’s contributions to OREA are numerous and great and chief among them is Legal Forum. The linked article was written recently to commemorate Merv’s response to his 6,000th Legal Forum question.
Lawyers, accountants, mortgage brokers and a host of other specialists are allowed, by law, to run their business through a professional corporation. It’s a move that lets you invest more of your income into your business. Yet real estate professionals are not allowed. OREA is campaigning to end this double standard and make taxation fairer for REALTORS®.
