Add these wireless gadgets to your wish list

Wireless technology is becoming more common in notebooks, PDAs, and especially cell phones.

Wireless technology is becoming more common in notebooks, PDAs, and especially cell phones. With wireless enabled devices you can communicate, access the Internet, e-mail and get information services wherever and whenever you want.

So, what’s wireless?

Headsets
One of the most popular applications for wireless technology is the cell phone headset. Although some may find them very geeky and sci-fi looking, they offer convenient hands-free cell phone usage. Since REALTORS® do a lot of driving during the day and answer tons of phone calls, these devices can make things much safer as both hands are free for driving. Even if you’re not driving, it’s good to be able to search e-mail or print listings out for customers as you are talking to them on the phone.

Car kits
If you don’t like the idea of a headset, how about a speakerphone? Using a car kit, your cell phone becomes a speakerphone that plugs into your car's power adapter. These kits usually come with a noise-cancelling microphone which reduces background sounds and large buttons make adjusting speaker volume easy. Simply plug the unit into your car cigarette lighter adapter and your wireless enabled mobile phone operates in hands-free mode. Your cell phone can also be stored inside a pocket, purse, briefcase or in the trunk and still operate.

Keyboards
Palm/Treo has a neat and small wireless keyboard that is compatible with a couple of different models and has plenty of good features with the most useful one being a “space saver.” Because it can be folded up it’s perfect for people that travel a lot. It features the QWERTY style and needs 2AA batteries in order to work for 5 months. It also includes a pull-out easel located on the back so you can adjust your Treo/Palm to the best viewing angle. If you want to go really high tech, you’ll want the Laser Virtual Keyboard. This tiny device laser-projects a keyboard on any flat surface and lets you type away on your PDA or cell phone accompanied by simulated key click sounds. With 63 keys and full size QWERTY layout the Laser Virtual Keyboard can approach typing speeds of a standard keyboard but it’s only a little larger than a matchbook.

Printers
Printing listings, contracts or any other important documents on the road, has never been easier since the creation of wireless printers. They are so small in size that you can comfortably carry them around in your car and with a wireless connection you don’t need wires or cables to send information from your laptop. Besides working with computers and laptops, the wireless USB adapter also works with PDAs and any other devices that have the printing feature. Just insert the adapter into the printer’s USB port and you’re ready to go.

A mighty pen
Finally, the Nokia Digital Pen SU-27W is a must have for the true gadget lover. You can use the digital pen to take notes and document other important information on the spot and then you send them to your compatible mobile phone using wireless technology. You can also send e-mails with personalized content and even drawings and transfer your pen notes to a compatible PC for storage.

As with any technology purchase, it’s important to ensure that the device is compatible with your cell phone, smartphone or PDA. to see more of what’s out there and what’s coming up in the near future visit your local technology dealer, such as Future Shop or Best Buys or check out www.bluetooth.com or www.intel.com or www.intel.com/network/connectivity/products/wireless/ or simply type “wireless gadgets” into your search engine.
